Team Upfront Adds Two Investing Partners
August 21, 2019Aug 21, 2019 | By Kerry Bennett

The Upfront investing team is getting bigger and better! We're excited to announce two new general partners - Michael Carney and Aditi Maliwal.

As many know, Michael has been an invaluable part of the Upfront team since 2015, when he joined from PandoDaily. He currently serves on the boards of several growth-stage companies including ZestFinance, DAILYLOOK, Cloudvirga and NuORDER. While Michael will focus on investments across the entire Upfront platform, his primary focus will be on later-stage companies.

Aditi will be Upfront's first San Francisco-based partner (though she's still #LongLA). She joins the team from Google, where she was most recently a Product Manager and also worked at Google in Corporate Development & Strategy. Prior to Google, Aditi worked in venture capital at Crosslink Capital and was in investment banking at Deutsche Bank. She'll also be investing across the platform, with a particular interest in BtoBtoC companies.

With the new additions, Upfront's investing partner team is now 25% female (42% female on the executive team.) 38% of the investing partner team represent a US ethnic minority, and we're evenly split with partners under and over 40 years old.

We couldn't be more excited for these two to make their mark on our partnership!
