From day one, Nanit has been focused on supporting parents by providing insights gleaned through computer-vision connected cameras, smart swaddles to monitor breathing, and smart sheets to gauge and track growth. That parent-focused vision didn't change with the pandemic.
What did change was how the company fulfilled this mission in a new environment. At this month's SuperTechnology North America 2021 conference, Nanit CEO Sarah Dorsett joined Upfront Managing Partner (and Nanit board member) Mark Suster to discuss how she and her team tackled the challenges in the context of COVID, including adjusting supply chain and logistics and enabling grandparents or other caregivers to monitor the baby remotely.
They also discuss the process of virtual fundraising, which culminated in their Series C fundraise, announced this week, led by Frederique Dame at GV with enthusiastic participation from Upfront and other existing investors.
